PortAventura is located in the heart of the Costa Dorada , between the Tarragona municipalities of Vilaseca and Salou .
In general, PortAventura opens at 10:00 AM and closes at midnight during the summer season after the fireworks display. Although the park officially opens at 10:00 AM, the main gates open at 9:30 AM, and access is permitted to Mediterránea, where you can have breakfast or do some shopping while waiting for the rest of the park to open.
The park consists of six themed areas based on different historical civilizations. Each area strives to faithfully reproduce details that exist or existed in those civilizations and cultures to achieve maximum immersion.
Mediterranean , this is the Welcome area of the Park. The realism and quality of the park are striking; the houses, streets, ports, restaurants, etc., transport you to a small, typical Mediterranean fishing village .
From here you can travel to any part of the park either on foot, by boat ( Port de la Drassana ) or by steam train ( Estació del Nord ) .
You can't miss its main attraction, the Furius Baco , a horizontal catapult that will propel you to 135km/h in just 3 seconds, the Fastest roller coaster in Europe until 2009 and it has the peculiarity that the traveler's legs and feet are exposed to the air.
The largest shops and most luxurious restaurants in the park are located in the Mediterranean area.
Everything begins and ends in the Mediterránea, because it is here that the Fiesta Aventura show is held, a wonderful light and pyrotechnics show that closes the park every night.
Polynesia , we ventured into an authentic jungle full of palm trees, bamboo and tropical plants that reproduce the vegetation of the Polynesian islands, one of the most exotic landscapes in the world.
The biggest attractions here are Kon Tiki Wave , a large canoe that rocks (90º tilt) simulating a strong tropical storm; Sea Odyssey and Dino Escape 4D , an attraction for all ages where 3D movies and dinosaurs are projected, respectively; and finally, the great Tutuki Splash , representing a large volcano where you will travel in a barge through the jungle amidst torrents and waterfalls up to 15 meters high.
In Polynesia you will find many attractions designed especially for the little ones such as The Canoes , a short journey via submerged rails with ups and downs.
In this area, the shows are especially beautiful and well-staged, featuring exotic birds and ancestral rituals, with music and dances that will transport you to this Pacific paradise. You can enjoy Aloha Tahiti, Birds of Paradise, one of the park's best and most popular shows.
Sesame Street Adventure , since 2011, has been a new themed area, specially designed for young children. In Sesame Street Adventure, we enter a magical world, full of color and fantasy, with a large central tree inhabited by the Sesame Street characters.
China is the area with the park's largest and most powerful attractions: Dragon Khan (8 loops and speeds exceeding 110 km/h) and Shambhala (Europe's tallest roller coaster at 76 meters) dominate a small world themed around Imperial China. This area meticulously recreates not only the grandeur of the Asian giant, divided into two distinct regions: People's China and Imperial China, connected by the Great Wall, but also the fictional kingdom of Bhutan, one of the world's most isolated and little-known countries. In addition, you can enjoy the Angkor adventure and amazing shows like Dance Revolution and the magic of Bubblebou .
In China you will find the grand Imperial Theatre , a theatre for 1140 people where you can relax and see wonderful shows full of music and color.
If you like Chinese cuisine, this is a good area to enjoy a fantastic buffet at Marco Polo , the Canton restaurant where you can eat authentic Chinese food such as whok, kebabs, skewers and spring rolls, or even hamburgers and hot dogs at the Dragana restaurant.
Mexico , an incredible blend of Mayan and Aztec jungles, with its cantinas, arid lands, and pyramids. Mystery, traditional shows, and thrilling experiences await you in this corner of the park. The star attraction in this area is the Condor Hurricane, a 100-meter-tall tower that reaches speeds of 110 km/h. Other attractions include the Devil 's Mine Train with its high-speed curves and drops, the Feathered Serpent , the Temple of Fire , and The Secret of the Maya , a fun ride with light and sound effects through a mirror maze.
La Cantina is a restaurant that offers Mexican specialties such as nachos, spaghetti, beans, etc.
Far West , welcome to Texas, the American Old West, with its arid landscapes and numerous water attractions. The final area of the tour. The thrill of the incredible Stampida , a roller coaster suitable for almost all ages where you'll travel through the West aboard wooden wagons that zip across the landscape at high speed; the fun of the Grand Canyon Rapids where you'll descend rivers and waterfalls in circular boats that spin on their own; or the refreshing Silver River Flume where you can float down the rapids on a single log. These are just some of the experiences you can enjoy in this themed area. And don't forget the exciting cowboy shows!
PortAventura is undoubtedly a great theme park that leaves no one indifferent, a magical day for children and adults.

PortAventura Park's opening hours vary depending on the season. It's open every day from March 23rd to November 5th, and until January 7th, it's open only on weekends and public holidays (except December 1st). Generally, PortAventura opens at 10:00 AM and closes at midnight during peak season and at 8:00 PM during off-peak season. You can find detailed daily opening hours on their website.
Ferrari Land's opening hours also vary depending on the season. In the off-season, it's open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while in peak season it stays open until 8:00 p.m. It's closed in January, February, and until March 23rd, and in November and December it's only open on weekends and public holidays.
