PortAventura: Salou 3000 experiences

PortAventura: Salou

Are you ready to enjoy to the fullest? PortAventura World opens this new season with exciting proposals and magical surprises to make you enjoy your getaway. PortAventura World kicks off the new season this March 23 with 6 thematic areas designed to make you live an unforgettable experience.

PortAventura is located in the heart of the Costa Dorada , between the Tarragona municipalities of Vilaseca and Salou .

In general, Port Aventura opens at 10:00 in the morning and closes at 24:00 at night in the summer season after the fireworks show. Although the park officially opens at 10:00, the main gates open at 9:30 and access is allowed to Mediterránea, where you can have breakfast or do some shopping while the rest of the park opens.

The park consists of 6 thematic areas based on different historical civilizations. Each area tries to faithfully reproduce details that exist or existed in said civilizations and cultures to achieve maximum immersion.

Mediterranean , this is the Welcome area of the Park. The realism and quality of the park is surprising; The houses, streets, ports, restaurants, etc., take you to a small typical Mediterranean fishing village .

From here you can travel to any part of the park either on foot, by boat ( Port de la Drassana ) or by steam train ( Estació del Nord ) .

You cannot miss its main attraction, the Furius Baco , a horizontal catapult that will propel you to 135km/h in just 3 seconds, the fastest roller coaster in Europe until 2009 and which has the peculiarity that the traveler's legs and feet go outdoors.

In the Mediterránea you will find the largest stores and the most luxurious restaurants in the park.

Everything begins and ends in the Mediterranean, because it is here where the Fiesta Aventura show is held, a wonderful light and pyrotechnic show that closes the park every night.

Polynesia , we enter an authentic jungle full of palm trees, bamboo and tropical plants that reproduce the vegetation of the Polynesian islands, one of the most exotic landscapes in the world.

The biggest attractions here are the Kon Tiki Wave , a large canoe that swings (90º tilt) simulating a strong tropical storm. Sea Odissea and Dino Escape 4D is an attraction for all ages where movies and dinosaurs are projected in 3D, respectively, and finally the great Tutuki Splash , representing a large volcano where you will travel on a barge through the jungle between torrents and waterfalls up to 15 meters.

In Polynesia you will find many attractions designed especially for the little ones, such as Las canoas , a small route via submerged rails with ups and downs.

In this area, the shows are especially beautiful and very well set, shows with exotic birds and ancestral rituals, with music and dances that will transport you to this Pacific paradise. You will be able to enjoy Aloha Tahiti, Birds of Paradise, one of the best and most successful shows in the park.

Sésamo Aventura , since 2011 we have found this new themed area, especially designed for the little ones. In Sesame Adventure we enter a magical world, full of color and fantasy with a large central tree inhabited by Sesame Street characters.

China is the area with the largest and most powerful attractions in the park: the Dragon Kahn (8 loops and more than 110km/h) and the Shambhala (the highest roller coaster in Europe at 76 meters) preside over a small world set in China. Imperial reproducing in detail not only the grandeur of the Asian giant, divided into two well-differentiated areas: Popular China and Imperial China, linked together by the Great Wall, but also the imaginary kingdom of Bhutan, one of the most isolated and unknown in the world. Plus, you can enjoy the Angkor adventure , and amazing shows like Dance Revolution and the magic of Bubblebou .

In China there is the great Imperial Theater , a theater for 1140 people where you can rest and see wonderful shows full of music and color.

If you like Chinese cuisine, this is a good area to enjoy a fantastic buffet at Marco Polo , the Canton restaurant where you can eat authentic Chinese whok food, kebabs, skewers and rolls, or even eat hamburgers and hot dogs at the Dragana restaurant.

Mexico , an incredible mix of the Mayan and Aztec jungle, with its cantinas, arid lands and pyramids. Mystery, traditional shows and very strong emotions is what awaits you in this corner of the park. The star attraction in this area is the Huracán Cóndor, a 100-meter-high tower that reaches 110 km/h. The El Diablo Mine Train with curves and slopes at high speed, the Feathered Serpent , the Temple of Fire and The Secret of the Mayans , a fun tour with light and sound effects through a maze of mirrors.

La Cantina is a restaurant that offers Mexican specialties such as nachos, spaghetti, beans, etc.

Far West , welcome to Texas, the old American West, with arid landscapes, but with a multitude of water attractions. The last area of the route. The excitement of the incredible Stampida , a roller coaster for almost all audiences where you will travel through the west riding wooden cars that cross at high speed, the fun of the Grand Canyon Rapids where you will go down rivers and waterfalls riding circular boats that rotate on themselves or the refreshing Silver River Flume where you can go down the rapids on an individual log, are some of the experiences that you can live in this thematic area. And don't forget the exciting cowboy shows!

PortAvenura is without a doubt a great amusement park from which no one leaves indifferent, a magical day for children and adults.

But this does not end here, because located within the PortAventura World resort, and inaugurated in 2017, we find the new Ferrari Land resort. If you like the smell of gasoline, the speed and the roar of engines, this is your destination. The first theme park dedicated to the Prancing Horse team in Europe.

Inside, you will find the best attractions, restaurants and shops, a part dedicated to the technology and innovation of Formula 1 and another area paying tribute to Italy where you can discover the most famous monuments in Italy and the main buildings in the history of Ferrari.

Ferrari Land offers you attractions that will leave you breathless: the Red Force , the tallest (112 meters) and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe (from 0 to 180km/h in 5 seconds), and Thrill Towers , the two 55-meter towers free fall and rebound height. The El Soplao Cave is located between the Cantabrian municipalities of Herrerías, Valdáliga, and Rionansa, high in the Sierra de Arnero mountain range, at an altitude of 540 meters and 83 km from Santander. It offers magnificent views of the Sierra de Peña Sagra, the Picos de Europa mountains, the Nansa River valley, and the Cantabrian Sea.

El Soplao ” is a mining term referring to the air that is felt when descending from a gallery to one with less oxygen. The El Soplao Cave was discovered by miners who, around 1908, drilled the gallery as part of the exploitation of the La Florida mines. It is considered one of the great wonders of geology, as it holds a true speleological paradise: helictites, stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, columns, cave pearls, dogtooth spar… A veritable interplay of shadows, light, and colors.

In addition to its geological value, the El Soplao Cave and its surroundings boast an exceptional heritage of industrial mining archaeology, with over 20 km of galleries. Mining activity has also left its mark on the surface, with headframes, calcination kilns, washing plants, and workshops.

A replica mining train will take you through the La Isidra mine tunnel to the cave. Once there, a walking tour will take you through the galleries and chambers of La Gorda, Los Fantasmas, Mirador de Lacuerre, Centinelas, and Ópera. The tour lasts approximately one hour and combines geological and mining experiences, with galleries and industrial mining archaeology.

The path along most of the route is made of non-slip cement, although there are some wet areas (dripping water). The route is equipped with railings and handrails, and the lighting recreates the original conditions of the surrounding environment (cave/mine), so there are some dimly lit areas. Comfortable shoes (without heels) and warm clothing are recommended (the temperature inside is around 12 to 14 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of around 90%).

The El Soplao Cave offers all the necessary infrastructure for visitors. The visitor reception building combines traditional mining construction methods with cutting-edge techniques and houses amenities such as an arrival hall, ticket offices, a souvenir shop, a cafeteria and self-service area, a terrace, a viewing tower, restrooms, and more.

The building also has a workroom that can be used for various events, such as congresses, conferences, courses, etc. Outside, there is a large parking area with a separate area for buses, recreational areas, and an exhibition of contemporary sculpture.

Furthermore, El Soplao Cave is adapted for people with reduced mobility (100% of the route is wheelchair accessible). Access to the last section of El Soplao Cave requires the use of a platform lift. Children up to 12 years old and wheelchair users must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers are not permitted, but baby carriers are available at the ticket office.

Peñíscola Castle 3000 experiences

Peñíscola Castle

A Historic-Artistic Monument since 1931, the Castle of Peñíscola is located 64 m above sea level on a rocky outcrop where the old city of Peñíscola was built and right on the remains of the old Arab citadel.

Begun at the end of the 13th century by the Templars and completed in 1307, during its more than 7 centuries of history it has undergone some small changes mainly under the mandate of Pope Benedict XIII who transformed it into a papal palace.

The period when it was a refuge for Pope D. Pedro de Luna (Papa Luna or Benedict XIII) was the most important time for the castle, a time when many rooms, towers or courtyards were built with an austere architecture typical of the time.

The castle walls are built with hewn stone, covered by barrel vaults, which have withstood the passage of years and various wars and sieges without major alterations, demonstrating their robust construction.

The castle is located in the highest part of the old town ofPeñíscola , an old town that is perfectly walled with a set of walls built in the different eras and scenarios that Peñíscola has gone through and that give the whole an image of a great fortress that impresses every visitor.

The walls have 3 military zones, the most notable being the Renaissance wall right in front of the 16th century fortification, the work of the architect JB Antonelli and therefore a sample of the peninsular architecture of the time.

The fortress can be accessed through 3 different entrances, all of them of special beauty.

The Portal Fosc was the main entrance until the 18th century and was in the Renaissance style.

The Sant Pere gate dates from the 15th century, from the time of Pope Luna, and was ordered to be built as a new access by sea to the fortress, which led to the construction of a pier that was operational until the 18th century when it was closed to prevent possible military entries.

The Santa María gate was ordered to be built by Fernando VI to improve access to the city of Peñíscola and above it you can find the Santa Ana hermitage, a must-see and in the Baroque style.

Ideal is a stroll through the artillery park, a rest among its palm trees, olive trees, flora… which was the old garden of the Papa Luna castle, a place where you can observe the entire bay of Peñíscola and breathe the sea breeze at the same time as the waves break the silence of such an idyllic place.

For all these reasons, a visit to Peñíscola Castle is a must for all visitors spending their holidays in Peñíscola , whether it's a getaway with family, friends or as a couple; the castle's surroundings and its old town are the ideal place to spend a cultural afternoon with a pleasant stroll. Whether you're planning your holidays or thinking about spending a weekend in Peñíscola, we recommend some apartments near the Papa Luna Castle .

Lacuniacha: Pyrenees 3000 experiences

Lacuniacha: Pyrenees

“I'm looking for something different from everyday life”… “I'm looking for something that makes me feel like a child again”… Fresh air? Walks to become one with nature? Being able to visit the “natural inhabitants” of our lands? Well look no further because Lacuniacha is the place you were looking for.

It is defined as a “Biopark” with its 30 hectares of pure Aragonese nature that are covered in about 4 and a half kilometers of mountain trails where you can observe around 14 animal species and 21 different plants in a botanical itinerary. For the public, it is the right place to be able to observe first-hand the greatness of the fauna and flora of this region. Located near the town of Piedrafita de Jaca. The park is part of the Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve , making it one of the territories internationally recognized within the framework of the MAB (Program on Man and the Biosphere). of UNESCO . This project seeks to reconcile the conservation of biological and cultural diversity, economic and social development through the relationship between society and nature.

All the specimens in the park have a bit of a story since their origins are varied: some were born in captivity, others come from recovery centers or others have even been rescued from places where they did not receive the care they needed.

Several of the park's species have a degree of threat so they are in recovery projects, such as the European Bison, which implies that the calves born in Lacuniacha will be released into the wild in small populations of Bison in northern Europe.

The fauna park is located in the ancient forest of La Pinosa and can be divided into two distinct parts:

- Lacuniacha Baja : It is seen as a mixed forest, where we can observe different plant species, some of which are protected so none are allowed to be uprooted.

- Lacuniacha Alta : It is an ecosystem of large subalpine meadows, shrubs and small mountain flowers that make the place an unparalleled place.

Its route is laid out in such a way that you can visit all the enclosures of the different species that populate the park such as its deer : deer, fallow deer, reindeer, roe deer; its goats like the Iberian ibex; and its wild boars, mouflons, boreal lynx, European bison, sarrians, bears, Przewalski's horses, wolves, foxes and even ghouls and birds of prey in its observatory.

The place also has a gift and souvenir shop to remember your time in Lacuniacha simply by looking at an object and a small open-air bar with a rest area and a picnic area to recharge your batteries after, before or even while you is still on the ride with its offer of sandwiches, snacks, snacks, and hot and cold drinks.

The park in the middle of the Aragonese Pyrenees also shares a program together with schools and companies to publicize the beauty of the work carried out in its 40 hectares. For this, it offers different activities such as guided tours and workshops; all adapted to the different ages, educational levels of the students and with content with objectives adapted to the teachers' syllabi.

The park itself has a series of recommendations and warnings based on its experience for the best possible enjoyment of its visitors:

- Wear comfortable mountain shoes or sports shoes since the entire park route is pure natural trails.

- In cold times, hiking boots, warm clothing and, if possible, the use of walking sticks are essential in case there is ice or snow on the trails.

- Keep in mind that baby seats (except the special 4x4 ones), wheelchairs (manual or electric) cannot travel on the trails, so for babies it is advisable to use a baby backpack and if you do not have a She knows that they can be rented at the Park reception.

- The park is located between 1380 and 1580 meters of latitude and since everything is done outdoors it is advisable to inform yourself about the weather in advance and be prepared in case of any sudden change in conditions.

- For security reasons, pets are not allowed and there is no daycare available for them.

- Remember that although they are animals that people see every day, they are always wild species, so it is mandatory to follow the trails, respect the indications, the tranquility of the animals and the panels.

One of the great positive points of the Lacuniacha animal park, apart from its unique spectacle, its species of both animals and plants, its views that make you fall in love, the fact that it will make you get closer to nature like no other place in Aragon and its tranquillity; It is also open all seasons of the year, offering different shows, of different colors and smells throughout the year.

Carmelite Museum of Wineries and Distilleries in Benicàssim

Located in Benicàssim, right at the entrance to the town and just a few minutes from the BeniKarts karting track, with excellent transport links and easy, convenient access.

The distillery's museum and winery are located within an old farmhouse from the early 20th century, a building with a rich history that will give us an insight into the history of this popular distillery.

This distillery was founded in 1896 by Carmelite monks who began distilling liqueurs in the basement of the Carmelite monastery outside Benicàssim. Gradually, the distillery expanded, and due to the need to improve the distillery's communications with the outside world, as well as the expansion, the distillery moved to a villa located in the town of Benicàssim. To this day, it remains the main headquarters and museum of this liqueur distillery on the Costa del Azahar.

The distillery produces liqueurs and sweet wines, including gin, vodka, coffee liqueur, rice cream liqueur, hazelnut liqueur, and other distillery-specific liqueurs.

The distillery-museum is open to the public every day of the year, and a tour of the facilities with tasting of the liqueurs produced there is organized. Visitors can also purchase these high-quality liqueurs, which have won several awards over the years, at manufacturer's prices.

This is a curious and interesting visit that we recommend visiting with family and friends.

Tibetan Bridge + Roc del Quer Viewpoint 3000 experiences

Tibetan Bridge + Roc del Quer Viewpoint

Information about the Tibetan Bridge + Roc del Quer Viewpoint

The Canillo Tibetan Bridge is the second longest Tibetan bridge in the world.

This type of bridge, also known as a suspension bridge, is characterized by its long cables and wooden planks that span cliffs and rivers. Originating in the mountainous regions of Tibet, these bridges offer a thrilling experience while providing breathtaking views.

It is 603 meters long, ranging from an altitude of 1875 meters on the Armania side to 1884 meters on the Coll de la Cauba side. This route is designed for an out-and-back hike, and is therefore one meter wide to allow for two-way access.

Access to the Canillo Tibetan Bridge is only possible by bus from the town of Canillo or from the Roc del Quer viewpoint parking area. With the purchase of a ticket to the Canillo Tibetan Bridge or the Canillo Tibetan Bridge + Roc del Quer viewpoint package , the bus transport is free.

Access to the Tibetan Bridge is from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with entry every 30 minutes. Entry times are reserved when tickets are purchased. Admission is free for children under 5.

From the bus stop at the Tibetan Bridge to the start of the bridge, you have to walk along a 900-meter-long path with unbeatable views of the central valley of the Parish of Canillo and the mountains where the Grandvalira ski slopes are located.

Access to the Tibetan Bridge is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The mountainous terrain contains obstacles that are insurmountable for those with reduced mobility.

The Mirador del Quer is actually a 20-meter-long walkway. Eight of those 20 meters are on solid ground, but the other 12 extend into the panorama itself: this part of the walkway consists of a protrusion suspended in the air, making you feel as if you are floating and flying.

Much of the pavement is made of transparent glass, enhancing the feeling of height and suspension. Entry is free for children under 5.

Once purchased, tickets cannot be canceled or changed. They are personal and non-transferable.
