Information about Sallent de Gallego

Sallent de Gállego is a wonderful village in the Aragonese Pyrenees, located at an altitude of 1,305 metres and in an unrivalled setting. At the foot of the imposing Peña Foratata (2,341 metres), next to the Lanuza reservoir and just 5 kilometres from the Aramon Formigal ski resort.

Its privileged location makes it one of the most visited towns in the Pyrenees by ski lovers. Sallent has many services and apartments for rent, which make your stay easier; as well as easy access to the ski slopes. Both by car, just 8 minutes away; or using the daily bus service .

Aramon Formigal has 138 skiable kilometres and 97 runs (7 green, 19 blue, 33 red and 38 black) . In addition to these great figures, there are 38 more skiable kilometres and another 45 runs, as Aramon allows you to purchase a joint ski pass that also gives you access to Aramon Panticosa. With a daily transport service between both resorts, the Tena Valley becomes the ski destination par excellence: 176 skiable kilometres, 142 runs, 6 valleys and numerous additional services: snow park, cross-country skiing circuits, snowshoes and sleds, snowmobiles, nurseries, ski schools, bars and restaurants, etc.

In this area you can go from absolute peace to maximum fun. Sallent de Gállego celebrates numerous fiestas, festivals and fairs throughout the year. For example, the town's patron saint festivities, held in honour of the Virgen de las Nieves; the popular Livestock Fair, together with a craft and food exhibition; or the important international Pirineos Sur festival, dedicated to music and cultures from the five continents. This famous festival has stages in Sallent and Lanuza (5 kilometres away) and has accumulated more than 20 editions behind it, with the presence of great figures from the international music scene.

Beyond music, Sallent de Gállego offers a multitude of outdoor leisure options. For example, there are numerous adventure sports and activities that can be practiced outside the winter season. These include canyoning, via ferrata, rafting, zip lines, fishing and an endless number of hiking and mountain biking routes.
