When is the O Grove Seafood Festival celebrated?

It is celebrated every year coinciding with the Pilar long weekend , when seafood is at its peak flavor and before the price surge prior to Christmas.

The O Grove Seafood Festival kicks off on October 1st with the opening proclamation and the first servings of seafood. Until October 12th, the festival will feature seafood, concerts, and various other activities.

During this time, various stands selling seafood and fish at affordable prices are set up, making O Grove the world capital of seafood.

Among the cultural offerings of the O Grove Seafood Festival, the Galician-Portuguese folklore exhibition stands out, enlivening the days with typical music and dances, as well as complementary activities such as the International Symposium of Open-Air Sculpture, the children's painting competition, chess tournaments, popular races and traditional events such as the Key, Petanque or Greasy Poles.
