LOOKING FOR ACCOMMODATION FOR THE CANFRANC CANFRANC 2026?
The CanfrancCanfranc is an extreme sports event that will be held from September 11 to 13, 2026. This extremely demanding race features long routes through mountainous terrain and requires numerous aid stations, both liquid and solid.
What races are held in Canfranc?
The Canfranc-Canfranc race includes several competitions, most notably the Ultra Trail 100 km, which stands out for its distance and long history, followed by the Ultra Short (70 km), the Marathon (45 km), and the 16 km Race. The 4 km Vertical Race was introduced in the 2022 edition.
In that same edition, the Canfranc International Station took center stage, as both the start and finish of all the races took place at this railway enclave.
The Uphill 6K will be the big novelty, whose route will be the same as that used in the World Championship, with the finish in La Raca (Astún) instead of Tuca Blanca (Candanchú), thus reinforcing the link between the Canfranc event and the recent world championship competition.
The Ultra Trail 100 km is a race that accumulates 8848 meters of positive elevation gain, with two vertical kilometers in a test of continuous ups and downs, passing through the Collarada peak or the Aspe, among others.
The Ultra Trail 70 km , with its nearly 6,100 m of elevation gain, is a very alpine ultra, starting with 1,500 m of elevation gain over just 6 km, reaching the 2,572 m altitude of La Moleta peak. From this point, it traverses the Porrón, Vértice de Anayet, Larraca, and Aspe peaks, where participants will reach the race's highest point (2,645 m).
The 26K Long Distance race was very well received by the fans.
The 45km Marathon features 4,000 meters of elevation gain, with four climbs: Pico de la Moleta, Larraca, Tuca Blanca, and Estiviellas. The weather and terrain make it difficult to complete unless conditions are practically perfect, a testament to the race's difficulty.
Finally, the 16 km Race is a circular route that reaches its highest point at the Pico de La Moleta (2572 m).
