From October 17 to 19, the Montañesa Federation of Beekeepers will organize the 15th National Beekeeping Fair in Torrelavega , Cantabria , one of the beekeeping events that has gained the most importance in recent years.

The latest edition of the National Beekeeping Fair was a true success with both the public and exhibitors, with nearly 70 companies and organizations showcasing their beekeeping products and services and thousands of attendees attending talks and conferences.

The Montañesa Federation of Beekeepers has set out to make the Torrelavega National Beekeeping Fair the event of the year on the calendar of Spanish beekeepers.

To this end, it has a good temporary location (with the beekeeping campaign already over) and an exceptional physical location: the Torrelavega Livestock Market, which boasts magnificent facilities, ample parking, and excellent road, rail, and air connections.

At each edition, the National Beekeeping Fair seeks to offer a lineup that attracts beekeepers and the public alike, featuring some of the most prominent companies in the beekeeping sector.

Beekeeping has a long tradition in Cantabria . Currently, Cantabrian beekeeping is striving to excel, primarily due to the high quality of its honey. There are approximately 570 beekeepers operating in the region, managing around 21,000 hives. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Cantabrian beekeepers collected around 158 tons of honey in 2020.

The program also includes the 2025 Honey of Cantabria Awards, open to beekeepers with hives in Cantabria. The competition will recognize forest, heather, eucalyptus, and multi-flower honeys, and each award-winning honey will be given a distinction.
